Charity profile

Promoting and nurturing art in the island of Jersey

It all started from a conversation between two local art teachers.
‘ It all started from a conversation between two local art teachers.

Art in the Frame Foundation was  founded in 1998 by two local art teachers Pat Robson and Elizabeth Le Gal, two years later it took on charitable status becoming  Jersey Registered Charity no 21, the charity is very proud to now be in its 23rd year.

Aims and Objectives

1. To help up and coming artists and makers, of all ages, to exhibit their work in Jersey and the UK through exhibitionS and events,  through social media and making connections and our Genuine Jersey Market Place .

To provide a place of excellence in arts education and deliver a range of high quality workshops and courses with local and international tutors. These are inclusive for children and adults from a diverse range of backgrounds, socio economic status and  to include those with physical and mental disabilities .

Originally there was a third aim, to have a hub/centre for the above to take place. To our great delight and with the help of a Tourism Development Fund Grant this was achieved in 2002 with the setting up of The Harbour Gallery Jersey, now in its 23rd year.

Collaborations

We are very proud to have built up working partnerships  with other charities, Focus on Mental Illness, Acorn, Mencap, The National Trust of Jersey to ensure that our delivery is accessible for all.
We have developed the highly successful ‘ You Are Never Too Old ‘group meeting once a week at the gallery  and also taking part in events. Also in November  ‘Men ships’  was launched to help combat social isolation for men and will be meeting once a month  throughout  2024. A new venture to help combat loneliness will be started in 2024,  ‘Around The Table.’
